IFA 2018 in Berlin is already behind us - success of the new products from FIBARO - FIBARO Newsroom

As every year, FIBARO was present at the IFA in Berlin from 31 August to 5 September. During several days of intensive work we presented as many as six product premieres.

The most important point of this year’s fair was the premiere of Smart Implant, which revitalizes old-school devices by giving them a smart particle. Thanks to this, there is no need to dispose of an old video recorder, receiver or turntable. Such FIBARO solutions make us return to equipment like VHS tapes, dusty vinyl records or other equipment, to which we still have a lot of sentiment.

In order to attract journalists and influencers to the stand, FIBARO sent invitations on VHS tapes. We hoped that such a form of the invitation would arouse interest. The reality however, has surpassed our expectations! Twitter flooded posts with photos of tapes and very positive comments on the invitation. Eventually, only two journalists proved to be effective in searching for a working video recorder, which was appreciated by us in a special way. The others could scan the QR code and play the recording on YouTube FIBARO channel.

Technostrefa also organized a special competition which task was to propose what kind of analogue product should become smart. And the winner is… smart tap!

Apart from Smart Implant, new products presented at IFA were Apple HomeKit version of The Heat Controller and brand new FIBARO Installer App. IFA visitors could also see products that we are still working on such as RGBW Set, Roller Shutter 3 and the Siren to make your surveillance system smart. Our stand was very popular among the media, partners as well as trade fair visitors. IFA 2018 was a time of very successful meetings, inspiring talks and plans for the future of both FIBARO and the entire smart home industry.
