Warsaw, 13th July 2018 – Nice group, a global leader in home automation technology, has acquired 100% of the shares of Polish smart home system manufacturer Fibar Group S.A. The transaction is valued at PLN 250 million.

FIBARO is one of the leading companies on the global smart home market. Its products are available in over 100 countries. The Poznań-based company was the first smart home solutions manufacturer to introduce an entirely wireless home automation system, resulting in worldwide acclaim. The company has been constantly developing its product portfolio and adding new functionalities since 2010, earning FIBARO the reputation of an innovator in the fields of both smart home solutions and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Nice group is a leading international home automation and home security company with its HQ based in Italy. The company provides comprehensive integrated automation solutions for gates, garage doors, solar shading systems, parking systems, wireless alarm systems and home security for residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Nice group’s acquisition of FIBARO will allow the company to offer its customers an even better smart home experience. Until now, FIBARO’s system was compatible with automated solutions for garage doors, window shutters etc. Now, thanks to joining forces with the Italian company, customers will gain access to better integrated solutions that will allow to manage their smart homes easily and more conveniently. For example, thanks to the integration of both companies’ products, customers will be able to grant automatic garage access to selected GPS tracked vehicles with pre-defined license plate numbers. The latest market research indicates that customers are presently seeking all the more advanced and integrated solutions for their smart homes.

Thanks to the acquisition, FIBARO and Nice will gain access to a wider distribution network as well as greater R&D and production capabilities. The transaction, valued at PLN 250 million, is Nice Group’s biggest investment to date in the smart home and IoT market.
