Nominations for the prestigious DesignEuropa Awards competition have been announced. We’re glad to say that FIBARO device was one among the eight finalists from all over the world. The company from Poznan received a nomination for the FIBARO INTERCOM smart video doorbell. The official DesignEuropa Awards ceremony will take place on 27 November in the POLIN Museum in Warsaw.
FIBARO was nominated in the “Industry” category. Intercom is one of the four industrial designs that reached the finals of the DesignEuropa Awards in this category.
FIBARO Intercom is a device that debuted on the market at the end of 2017 and gained recognition of smart home users. Smart video doorbell is a hybrid of an intercom and a device that controls access to a flat or house that gives you a sense of security and control over who you let in our thresholds.
Intercom can be located anywhere near the entrance gate or front door. As one of the few devices of this type, it offers the possibility of recording images in Full HD resolution (1080p) with a very wide angle of camera view, even up to 180 degrees in the perspective of the so-called fish eye perspective. This solution allows you to observe not only people standing directly in front of the FIBARO Intercom lens, but also what is happening around the property.
Device has been equipped with a special infrared diode, in order to monitor the environment in total darkness. Recorded video can be stored on an SD card, but what is the biggest advantage of Intercom is the ability to live stream video to mobile devices connected to the smart home system. By using FIBARO device in combination with a system of smart locks, enables household members to forget about their keys. Intercom allows you to open the door using a PIN code, a proximity access via mobile phone equipped with Bluetooth technology or a mobile application developed by FIBARO. It is also possible to remotely let in guests standing at the front door.
Intercom allows you to talk from every corner of the world. Imagine when your are travelling abroad, you will receive a call from your intercom and then decide if you want to let a person into your apartment or not. In the event that no household member is able to receive such a call, Intercom allows you to leave a video message to your hosts. The device can be connected to the system via WiFi connection or LAN.
“Awarding our product in such a prestigious competition is something that is particularly important to us. We always want to create not only useful but also beautiful things. That is why we pay so much attention to design on every steage of designing the smart device. FIBARO smart home products feature a unique design that cannot be compared to anything else available on the market. Being unique is very important to us so that our smart home devices can be treated as a decoration of modern interiors. And so, the FIBARO Intercom uniqueness is nominated again.”
– explains Krzysztof Banasiak, Member of the Management Board of Fibar Group S.A.
