FIBARO, a global Home Automation brand based on the Internet of Things technology, has recently signed an international distribution agreement with Intesis. From now on, FIBARO will be the official reseller of Intesis WiFi-ASCII products intended to be installed within FIBARO automation projects which are available in dozens of countries determined as FIBARO distribution channel.
The Intesis WiFi-ASCII interfaces, in combination with a new virtual device developed by FIBARO enables integration of Air Conditioner units with FIBARO home automation systems. Precise control over the AC units of homes via FIBARO smart devices will ensures a major reduction of energy consumption while contributing to environment protection. If “being green” is not interesting enough, the reduction of the electric bill might get the attention of any kind of person.
However, the main goal is always to reduce energy consumption while improving user’s comfort, and that is what FIBARO smart home and Intesis Air Conditioner interfaces bring to the home owners. Connected devices help to create a comfortable atmosphere adapting i.e. lighting, sound, and temperature to reach the highest comfort of the user.
How does it works?
The WiFi-ASCII gateway is either directly wired to the AC unit (brand specific device) or connected via Infrared commands (universal device). The driver, commonly called “virtual device” by the FIBARO community, runs in the FIBARO controller which is connected to the same IP network as the Intesis gateway. In this way, the communication between these 2 systems is established, and the user can have full control of the Air Conditioning units from any FIBARO interface.
